I really want to see Robin soon, too! She hasn't talked to Barney about being "Doogie" yet, and I'm dying to see that.
Marshall and Ted's reaction to meeting Vinnie was awesome. And that scene between Barney and Katherine was beautiful. I was so very wrong about how Charles dies, too. =P But I'm glad I was!
I also really like how you captured the adult Vinnie. I could hear his voice and kind of annoying accent in my head perfectly. =)
I'm a little confused, though: so was there just a random terrorist in the middle of the airport when Doogie and Vinnie were trying to leave Europe? And how/when did Mr. Howser find out about what happened in Europe and confront Doogie about it?
>Also, I LOVED Vinnie in this scene. I love how he's a little bit smooth (with Ted and Marshall) and a little bit of an ass. It just seems perfect for how Vinnie would have grown up.
Thank you! Because, serioiusly, Jersey is SO brilliant at writing Vinnie and so I was crippled by fear at having to write that scene and her give me disapproving looks (via laptop). I thought he came across as a bit stereotypical so *gah*! But I guess not!
Isn't it weird that we're up to part 20? Wow! This story is EPIC!
Ach, I'm sure it will all make sense in the end. I'm hoping it will. It made sense to use when we were writing it. And we couldn't stick to much in the way of canon because this was all written well before Christmas don't forget.
Damn you Jersey for making him so hot and loveable...and you all for finishing him off so heartless like that just after Doogie's practically shattered his heart by running after that worthless dumbass VINNIE*grumbles*
It was important that it was a totally sensely act of violence and utterly horrible for Doogie, who's so used to being able to FIX things. The fact that he confronts the terrorist (as he confronted Raymond) felt to him as though HE caused everything and led directly to his mental breakdown and attempted suicide at the Bridge in New York. It's really sad.

I'm glad you think the characterization is good! I was worried we might be missing the mark as the story spirals away from canon.
