Well, I did another video and thought I'd share...
It's set to "You can leave your hat on" by Joe Cocker and features not only Lt. Bush, but most of the main characters.

But more importantly I need encouragement or a bloody good reason why I need to continue with The Commodore and then read Lord Hornblower. I ( Read more... )

1) Yes. Yes, you need to keep reading despite the woe of events in Lord Hornblower. The Commodore has many fangirly inspiring moments, and even though Lord Hornblower is the book of pain, it's really important in understanding what goes on in HH's head and how he looks at all the people in his life that have come and gone.

2) OMG THAT ICON.

I laughed my ass off at the bit with footage of Hornblower, "you can take your dress off", and all the boys nodding yes. XD

Keep reading. If anything, if you are a Bush fan as I think you are, you have to endure the pain like the rest of us. *Grin* There is lots that goes on in the Baltic and so many wonderful things, too, that happen in LeHavre, that those are a must read. Now, Hornblower in the West Indies? That's probably one you can skip. As hurtful and gutwrenching as Lord Hornblower is, it puts a nice finish on the story and Forester should have stopped there.

The video rocks. Excellent stuff!
*friending you*

Thanks! :D Friending you back!

And thank you, too for the encouragement! I guess the pain is part of it all... I wish I wouldn't get that emotionally attached to fictional characters, but Bush is just... *insert adequate adjective here*

You don't have to tell me twice about the Bush love. I have it in spades. *G*

Hornblower in the West Indies:

Seriously. That book is the shits. It defies everything that went before it chronologically and it's just badly put together. CSF must have needed the money or something. *g*
