"Kind of," Jarod said. "It's like this - We found this hellbeast, you see. And Raphael killed it. And I was wondering - I'd like to examine it. I have some medical background, I can certainly do lab work. I'd like to put up a kind of lab somewhere if it's okay with you."
His gaze wandered to the waitress, caught hers, and he gave her a brief smile.
She took the hint and came over to take their orders.
"Yes," Jarod said. "No, no idea where it came from or what it was doing there. Raphael killed it. I would like to study it, dissect it, you know? I think I know where I can get some lab equipment quickly, before it decomposes too badly."
He had checked on the beast that morning. It seemed in better shape than it should be after being dead this long. Maybe bacteria and the like were reluctant to feed on something straight from hell.

"No problem," he claimed. "You wanted to talk to me about some addition to the manor?"

He placed his order as the waitress came over, trying not to look too shocked, then returned his gaze to Jarod quickly.
"Any idea where it came from? What it was doing there? What kind of lab are you thinking of? How'd you set it up?"
