The woman at the counter seemed surprised, but she then smiled warmly and motioned both of them behind the counter. "I'll even let you do it yourself if you like?"

"Thanks," Jarod said. He half-turned as he walked through the door, smiling and briefly waving at the girl behind the counter.

"Mmmh," he commented in Raphael's direction. "This is delicious!" Even after years in freedom, he still enjoyed every drop of ice cream he could get.

The woman watched the man and the cosplayer leave the shop, smiling to herself.

Raphael started in on his Oreo cookie shake. "I'm glad I could share this with you," he said.
