War paused on the stairs, long bow in her hand and a quiver over her shoulder. Only an idiot would think this was a threat, she thought, and mentally shrugged.

"Well, I am, for one," she called as she came downstairs and crossed the hall.

She sniffed the air (not that she needed to, but it had become a habit). Hm. An angel.

"New here?" she enquired, as neutrally as War could manage.

Phanuel eyed the long bow with mild dread- he wasn't quite keen being in the same room with a weapon. Though the lady holding it didn't seem about to use it- and he rather hoped she wouldn't-, the way she felt… Still, nothing was likely to happen inside, surely?

"Ah, yes, more or less," he said, smiling to cover up his nerves. "If it's not too much trouble, could you tell me a little about this place?"

War smiled dangerously. It was nervous. So it - though it looked like a he - should be, even if he didn't seem to have recognised her.

"It's a hotel, of sorts. A place to stay. Adam's running it - our sort get rooms free, as long as we promise not to damage the town and people here. Have to pay for drinks and food, though."

She balanced her bow on one hand and looked at him sideways, mildly curious. "What brought you here, if you don't know about it already?"

The smile wasn't exactly helping Phanuel's nerves, either, being rather more reminiscent of swords than he would've liked. Smiles, he thought, shouldn't be capable of that, but if it wasn't going further- and it sounded as though it wouldn't- he supposed he could relax, a little.

"Adam?" He imagined she meant the Antichrist, though the name seemed… well, off. Still. "Why would he do that?"

He shrugged, and smiled. "Oh, you know how it is… Change of pace, change of scenery, thought it might to nice to see how that goes." It wasn't entirely inaccurate- this just hadn't quite been where he'd meant to do so.
