I don't know who's having more fun, Jack or Ianto, winding Owen up but I'm trying not to read this outside my apartment because it's funny as hell! Owen is such an idiot at time! :D

And at 29, don't feel back about having to move back home; my son is 40 and still living with me. It's just too damned expensive here in NY to find a place, as much as I'd like him to be in his own and he's having serious legal problems with an ex-girlfriend who is using the legal system to get even because he won't marry her (she's an immigrant). Better than being on the street!

You're absolutely right - it is MUCH better than being homeless, and I'm extremely grateful. My parents are awesome.

Heeeee! Poor Owen, tormented by his lustful colleagues! He needs Tosh back to inject some sanity into the workplace, even if she IS a voyeur, lol!

At least Ianto is having a good time, even if he can't walk =)

Loved him pleading for Tosh not to hurt the wood panelling at Torchwood House *pets Ianto* I'm sure she'll be careful.

(Um, I still have wooden rulers... I don't like the plastic ones, the numbers wear off and then they're useless for anything. Except the other use, and they don't make a satisfying enough thwack for that. And they break too easily. Wood is better for everything. ;) .. )

I had far too much fun writing this one. So much so that there is part of a smexy interlude written too :D

Glad you liked the bit about the panelling - I thought it might be a little too gay for Ianto, but he does seem to appreciate beauty in all its forms.

I loved the wooden rulers, but I have a flexible plastic one. It's far easier to measure millimetres. I also, of course, used to have a wooden metre stick, mostly for pointing (I have to stand on a stool to write the date on the board; yes, I have a ruler for pointing).

Rulers are one of the great inventions - a simple tool with so many uses =)

Ianto, I'm sure, is a respecter of quality craftmanship, especially when something has stood the test of time. Wilful destruction of something so old that someone took such great pains in crafting would surely appall him. That pannelling is a work of art, done by hand. It should be preserved at all costs.

Looking forward to the interlude! I can finally get back to reading again once the last of my cottoncanmdy_bingo fics is posted today. Next time I won't leave it until inside the final month to decide I want to get a blackout. *rolls eyes*

Another wonderful chapter! Your words paint a vivid picture, it's easy to "see" each of the characters behaving in exactly this way. Thank Heavens Owen is finally realising just what Tosh does for him. As for the ruler scene, sometimes it's just as vivid even when the action is 'off screen' - and just as enjoyable. Whenever you get round to it, I'm looking forward to more antics as the story continues.

As for the smut, or lack thereof - I have dabbled with writing it, but even when I go for something more explicit, I still tend to do a fade to black before the, *ahem*, climax. Sometimes, things are best left to the imagination. I've really got to be in the right mood for that kind of thing (and it means I have to edit heavily or even rewrite for FF.net).
