I like these little glimpses into their relationship and this is a good one. Now, when you can, you really should finish your WIPs; it's frustrating to a reader to find a good story only to see is a 'to be continued'...
I well understand that! I'm trying to finish 3 jewelry pieces and can't focus on one. You'll get them done, no worries. The muses are on vacation :D and they'll strike you when you least expect it :D
Jack and Ianto are physical guys - they don't really go in for the whole 'talking' thing, generally. A fist-fight (à la KKBB) seemed like a logical way for things to boil over.
I can see how knowing he was the only 'intact' survivor of Canary Wharf would mess with Ianto's head. Seemed like he wanted to push Jack's buttons in a way, make him fighr so Ianto could work off some of those tangled emotions. I'm still miffed at the way he used Jack, but... I guess the fight evened the score a bit.
Jack was a bit miffed too, and I think it'll take a little time for them to get back to an even keel. Ianto won't tell me what was going through his head - he's too ashamed.

I've also got a blanket I'm trying to finish (I learned to crochet recently, and went a bit nuts), but that's coming in fits and starts too.

Giving out punches is a much more likely scenario than what we were given.
Ianto punching Jack is one of my all time favourite moments.
