As soon as he had a moment, Scotty - with his younger self in tow - nipped down to the transporter room to send his younger self off to Cardiff. And he was just grateful that he did have somewhere to send the kid, because otherwise he'd be stuck having to listen to complaints about not being allowed down to see the engine room all day. And Jack was waiting for him. Ianto was down in the archives working, since Jack told him that he had the break from the tourist office for the day. They'd just put up the closed for the day sign, it's not like they were waiting for anyone else. Once 'Monty' had beamed down into the tourist office, though, Jack stood and made his way around the tourist desk to shake the boy's hand.

"Hey there. Captain Jack Harkness," he said, with a big, white smile. "We finally meet in person, then. Welcome to the twenty-first century, Montgomery Scott."

Monty - 'Mery - whatever nickname he was going by at the moment - was shorter than the Scotty that Jack knew. Scrawnier, too, for the most part, all gangly and awkwardly teenaged. He took Jack's hand and shook it, a little distracted by the tourist office. "Hey," he said, eventually turning his attention back to Jack. "So... is this it, then?" Because quite frankly, it wasn't all that impressive.

"What, the tourist office?" he said, looking around him. He shook his head chuckling. "Definitely not. I would never have made a fuss about this place only. This is our cover. Our public face, if you will. Here, come on," he said, stepping up behind the desk and pushing the button that opened up the secret door. "It's this way," he said, with a wide smile, and motioning him forward into the passageway to the lift."

...Okay, a secret door was kind of cool. Cooler than some lame office that was nothing but brochures. Probably all about how awesome twenty-first century Cardiff was. As if. He followed along behind Jack, eying everything with a cool, distant sort of interest - or at least he liked to imagine he looked cool and disinterested. "So we're like. Friends. When I'm older," he said, tucking his hands in his pockets. "Weird."
