Family matters [Marlena, Riley, Ephram, Jules]
After her shift, Marlena stopped by the quartermaster to request two trundle beds. She'd gone down to sickbay out of curiosity, simply to see what Spock's message had been about, and ended up taking home two children and a father figure. It very nearly made her head spin. This sort of thing just didn't happen to her! A part of her wondered if she should blame Jim; that was when her life had started to change, when he'd swapped places with her universe's native Kirk.
But that wasn't fair. He'd only been doing what he thought was best, and he had little or nothing to do with this current ridiculous situation. And ridiculous it was--Ephram, a man who she had spent more time with naked than clothed, was now her foster child...along with a de-aged displaced doctor from the future, who Ephram had apparently befriended. She wasn't even sure she knew Julian Bashir as an adult--they'd certainly never been introduced.
And Riley...half an hour after meeting the man, she found herself sharing quarters with him. She'd always kept her distance from his counterpart in her own universe, but the man had a reputation. Marlena was extremely relieved to find that Kevin wasn't anything like his mirror.
When she got to her quarters, she found the man in question sitting on the floor in the living area, the two boys with him. "Good evening, gentlemen!" she greeted them cheerfully. "What are you up to?"
