The plan itself was holistically simple. Get in, collect the objective, and get out. With her knowledge of the facility, access to the labs via a stolen key card, and somewhat tolerable relationship with said objective, along with Vega's collected intelligence of the area, Kira’s know-how and SOLDIER experience, and their equal ability to walk without a limp, they were a force to be reckoned with. Elena pitied the fool who got in their way.

It felt good to be in uniform again. With weeks in hospital gowns, the little upgrade into actual linens for the last two weeks had been delightful. But to put on the dark navy slacks, button up shirt, tie and jacket, Elena felt useful again. She felt whole again. Well, whole with the exception of the gaping hole in her chest from her last encounter with Reeve.

Poor Reeve. She hadn’t intended things to happen the way it did and fuck up what little there was. She really can’t explain what happened. Things were going well, despite their roles and their histories, and perhaps could have been... ( ... )

Words felt like spark-plugs misfiring deep inside Sephiroth's mind, but at least it would have been better than the flatline which had started occurring since the new prototype drug had been introduced. However it felt like his whole head, in fact his whole body was stuffed with cotton wool which dampened the sparks easily.

So deep in some drug-induced slumber, Sephiroth heard perhaps two words and then had time to realize he hadn't been dreaming before the room span behind closed eyes. He felt sick again briefly but he had come to learn that these swoons were like that, made him sick to his stomach before stripping any remnant of consciousness away. Eyebrows slightly twitched together, an attempt to try to shake the so-called Jenova grape-vine back into life, if only he could just let that person know he had heard something.

The attempt died on slightly parted lips as engulfing nothingness flexed it's grip once more.

A scowl marred her features as she leaned forward over her cane, as if the sheer act of moving forward would cause her thoughts to do the same. Honestly, how could she even communicate with the man when she didn’t even know how she did it in the first place? But she thought it best to try, even if it did fail. No matter. Even if he did hear her, did he really want her help? He called her a traitor - a traitor to what she wasn’t entirely sure. No, he wouldn’t refuse her help if it meant freedom ( ... )

Vega entered the building a little later than Elena had wanted but at least she hadn't been caught. She stood out, but not enough for someone to call security the moment they saw her. As Vega walked around, she really had no idea which way she should go so she followed her gut, she eventually passed by a young woman in a lab coat. She looked a bit flustered, as if something had happened that didn't normally.

Must be on the right track. The red head thought with a grin. The scientist didn't pay much attention to her so that was a relief. Shouldn't they have something of a checkpoint system to make sure people are authorized to be here? Regardless, it was easier for all of them at this rate, that Shinra and the WRO hadn't made it to difficult. At least, nothing seemed difficult, which was why they all had to stay on their toes.

Before long, Vega saw Elena ahead of her. Walking a little faster, she joined the blonde Turk as she looked for Sephiroth's room.

There was a whiz and a whirr and then a little laser blast struck the floor by Elena's foot. Three droids zipped down the hall in front of them and a second set of two whipped across the ceiling from behind. There was a digital check point; one of the three droids had a voice that chirped out as it vibrated.

“Identify yourself and clearance”

In the silence that followed, all the droids became impatient. “Identify yourself by ShinRa ID number and clearance level. You have ten seconds.”

Vega glared towards the droids, her fingers twitching to take her weapons. She glanced at Elena, she was a Turk so she should have the clearance level to keep going, right? Placing her hands behind her back, she poised them to grab the twin blades and looked at the droids, where they were and tried to think, quickly.

To bad it asked for Shinra ID numbers, then again, she never took the time to remember much for the WRO except where she was supposed to go or what she was supposed to do.

"I hope you're ready to have a go Elena." Vega said quietly.

Elena had expected nothing less from the ex-SOLDIER, so when Vega appeared by her side Elena merely nodded and kept going. They were strapped with time and things would eventually get hairy -

Wwwwwhhhiirrrrr. Blam!

Coming to a halt, she frowned at the little puff of smoke that rose from the char mark on the floor beside her shoe. So, there actually was increased security. Maybe Rufus had taken her advise - no matter how miniscule it was. She'd warned him, hadn't she? That having Sephiroth so close would cause trouble.

"I hope you're ready to have a go Elena," she heard Vega say.

"Be ready in case I don't have the clearance."

Taking a few steps foward, Elena placed her cane in front of her, resting both hands atop the curved head. If things went afoul, she'd whip that cane around to beat the droids into submission.

"ID number 0053102, level 06."

"Level clearance not valid. Please relocate to a level 06 sector." The little droid demanded with a charged chirp. "Relocate by countdown... 10... "
