Cigarette smoke filtered through the air, giving it a slight haze. A gray trail curled from the burning tip to the ceiling. He hadn't budged from this spot in a while. Arms folded, head tilted to face the stars, he twitched toward the sound of Shera's voice without taking his eyes away from the prize.

"Mm." He nodded, disturbing the steady serpentine path of smoke through the air. "...Good night for flyin'." Visibility was good, wind conditions favorable. Hell, he'd fly in a goddamn squall... they'd been grounded long enough indeed.

Patience was in her lungs and her gaze as Shera watched the one man who could steel her thoughts and steal her breath. There was something quite romantic about the figure Cid cut, even as he was, stagnated still in one spot. It was whenever his eyes cast up to the heavens. Shera knew this, and a look flickered subdued over his form.

But whilst she knew this, it was rare in thought those terms of romance or some such. Still, it warmed her, and left her wanting, though almost entirely by proxy. The distance that she had traveled on foot couldn't be considered a perilously long ways to have gone, but for a girl of her stature the short journey took its toll in bounds. However, she was able to discern that the city was the faraway town of Gongaga--implicated by the shambles left by the mako reactor blast years earlier--and Gongaga was not famous for having the technology she required to sustain herself. The only option was to leave and find a way to obtain what she needed before it was too late.

And she could tell from the years dealing with it that the time loomed rather close.

For that reason Shelke trudged onward in the dark. She was beginning to feel the familiar onset of fatigue and was forced to pause mid-stride so that she could catch her breath. "..." The girl slumped over, bracing her hands against her knees.

Shera had not gotten an answer from Cid. She gave a little sigh, casting another look over his practically transfixed form. "Pardon me then, Captain." She knew he would recognise her words somewhere in that thick skull of his that were indication she was going for a walk, though she added in reflex "...Dinner will be ready for fixing when I get back ( ... )
