The look that Vincent gave the WEAPON at that was...interesting, to say the least. He had a feeling he was stuck in the middle of something he really didn't want to see to begin with, and although Chaos' behavior was distinctly new, he was certain it was just a precursor to some kind of rage.

He knew, from what Chaos himself had said, that he was under orders to behave.

Vincent also knew that he obviously wasn't listening to this order at all thus far, and failed to see how Tonberry of all things could sway him otherwise.

"You're normally so much more convincing," Vincent said quietly, a little curious. This was by far one of the strangest things that had happened to him in quite a while, if only due to Chaos' reactions here.

By this time, Tonberry had come into full view and he didn't look too pleased. "We all like to have fun, Chaos, but this is something different entirely." He made a quiet huffing sound. "And your lying is unbecoming, especially given that you're very bad at it."

He shot a glance at Vincent, having caught that bit of doubt about Tonberry's influence. "I'll get this sorted out, don't you worry."

Vincent was suddenly entirely ignored. Despite the differences in size and appearance, Chaos backed up and made a face like an angry cat. If its tail had been there, it would have lashed around, that was certain. He growled, deep in his chest and the human hands that he had been wearing melted a bit to claws. "I didn't hurt him. And that was the rule. It isn't like any of us know where Alexander is anyway, what's the point if we're all going to hell in a hand basket?"

"The deal" Tonberry replied, "was that you wouldn't hurt him and you would be useful." He shot Chaos as harsh a look as a Tonberry could muster. "And while we're at it, I suspect you may have been working under a somewhat liberal definition of 'not hurting him.'" He would ignore the comment about Alexander for now. It was true enough that none of them knew where Alexander and his host had got off to, but also, he thought, rather beside the point at the moment.
