Sing us a song, you're the harp woman

Oct 17, 2010 00:23

Who: Tifa and Siren
When: While people are checking out Corel
Location: Junon
Rating: PG
Summary: Siren visits Tifa a second time

The sound of a harp filled the air. There was no one visibly playing it, at least not yet, but Tifa would know the source. There were no words, but the music sounded sad, almost worried.

Tifa had just returned from shopping, finding the apartment empty although the music caught her attention. Again? Her last talk with the summon had been somewhat confusing and she dropped into a chair waiting for Siren to show herself.

Slowly Siren materialized, still playing the harp. She began to sing, not yet turning to look at Tifa.

We meet again, child, are you well?
Alas, I have bad news to tell
One town already under her spell
Calamity's spread we must now quell

"I'm well enough, I suppose, just trying to keep Marlene out of trouble and stay busy.

By under her spell you mean Corel right?" Tifa sighed and rubbed a hand over her eyes. "...So what exactly am I supposed to do this time?"

Listen to the girl, Marlene
The planet calls--her ears are keen
It's true that she may need protection
But let her words give you direction

Now Siren glanced at Tifa, perhaps in emphasis of the words. There would be many things Siren could tell Tifa, but Marlene could hear the voice of the planet itself. She was a resource Tifa needed to be aware of. It would be far too easy to discount the words of a child.
