Whether fortunately or unfortunately, Rufus had been sleeping lightly. Which meant that he heard and at least partially processed the words. It also meant he immediately processed the fact that someone was in his room.

Attempting to sit up only resulted in him becoming further tangled in his sheets, which he fought with for the couple seconds it took for him to fully process who that voice had belonged to. When he did, he abruptly stopped and just flopped onto his back, glowering at nothing in particular.

"Are you capable of making an entrance that isn't disconcerting?"

"I'm hardly a good judge as to what humans find disconcerting or not, Rufus." The mighty dragon summon walked across the room in his mother's body and sat herself down on his dresser. It didn't seem to bother her in the slightest that Rufus was naked.

Of course, why would it, she was a dragon.

"I'm checking up on you. Is it a bad time?"

Rufus might have found the fact that his dead mother was sitting on his dresser watching him be less than dressed further disconcerting, but it so happened that his mother was Bahamut and that he was wrapped in bed sheets. He turned to look at her, resisting an exceptionally childish urge to stick out his tongue.

"When I am sleeping, it is probably a bad time to try to talk to me." He lost sleep enough without having to worry about dragon-mother suddenly wanting to have a conference.

"You seem to be the most honest this way, Rufus." She responded. Her blue eyes focused on the distance between them. "You have a problem. Alexander's host is missing, along with your friend, Rude."
