Veld's face wasn't contorting, but the man was in pain. He tried three times to lift himself from his own drying blood and stand, but each time Veld sank back to the ground without making much progress. He could feel where the materia had properly knitted his life threatening wound, but the pain would linger. He had also lost a great deal of blood.
Veld managed after some effort to roll to his back and open his eyes. The machine whirred at him. He managed to smirk. "Paladin? Well... that's flattering."
To say Vincent was displeased at losing Kadaj would be like saying Galian looked a little aggressive. He paced around the edge of the platform from the which the Remnant had disappeared with a steady growl, stomping back and forth for several seconds before finally letting out a roar and then whirling toward Elfé and Veld

His gaze was turned towards the direction of the clash, which seemed to be dying down by now. Vincent had left him behind to protect Shinavi, the ex-Turk being somewhat more mobile than Cloud, but Cloud disliked being kept out of the loop.
The sheer scale of the fight made him nervous, moreso than his outward appearance would suggest, but in his experience, not many things could rumble like that. Any one of them with a low level materia could've raised some damage. Hell, if Cloud went at it hard enough, Blade Beam could cause enough property damage on its own. (Not that he would. Because that would be very bad. Even though Denzel had once begged and begged him to show him 'just a glimpse' and Cloud had almost been tempted until he'd seen Tifa's look.)
There weren't that many people capable of the stuff Cloud was hearing. (Though Reno might've been. That Turk was a little too good with timing his bombs.)
