Chapter 3: This here is Wutai

The puzzling traditions of Wutai have started to take their toll and an attack by Thunderbirds has left this group divided, though far from being conquered. Yet still the party are no further into solving the riddles of the Temple, or finding out more about the message unseen forces upon Gaia seemingly want heard. Three are at the temple steps.

The fall was not pleasant. Reno tumbled against two walls and thankfully he hit the vines on the way down and they cushion the fall enough for Reno to hit the ground dirty and possibly scraped but with no major damage.

There is a tunnel before him and a soft blue light far to the end. Maybe it's a body of water?

Hope you have a bottle of liquor handy kids.

There was a brilliant hum down the tunnels and the water seemed to be louder. The ripples were insistently calling for Reno's attention.

Reno snarled loudly in rage, having dug out his phone to call Rude that he hadn't broken anything and that he had a long rope in the helicopter so he could climb back out.

There were more muttered curses as he continued towards the water, on edge because water genreally didn't get louder and hum like that.

"I swear to Madeen if there's a fucking monster down here I'm gonna let it eat me."

As the ground cracked open, Rude lost his balance, dropping to his knees at the edge of the newly formed ravine. As he caught himself, he caught a glimpse of Reno and was struck with the horrible realization that his partner had been in position to actually fall into the hole. He reached out in an attempt to grab him, but it was already too late.

"RENO!" As if calling out would actually do any good. A loud string of profanities echoed up from the hole in the ground, and continued even after Reno, apparently, had hit bottom. At least that meant he'd survived the fall and was still conscious.

It took a moment for him to stop worrying about Reno enough to remember to be worried about Yuffie. She hadn't fallen in, but was she okay?

Yuffie was trying to rush up the temple steps to save the others, however the temple had already swallowed them all. "SHELKE! GAWD damn-" It was then she caught the tail end of Reno's curse against her country.

"HEY YOU FUCKIN RED HEADED TRAMP! WATCH YER MOUTH!!... where-" She looked up at Rude. "Where is he?"

Rude couldn't be surprised about Yuffie's reaction to Reno's rather colorful words. It was her country he was cussing out, after all. This was hardly a good time to be screaming at each other, but hey, he was happy enough with the fact that they were both doing well enough to yell at each other.

At the question, he simply pointed at the hole, figuring that was a good enough answer.

Yuffie sucked in a breath. "Is... is he alright?" She joined Rude at the edge of the hole. "I mean... you think?"

When the girl opened her eyes, she found herself in a different place. Her first immediate thoughts were to assess the area; The scenery was different--more ancient--and the lighting felt different than what she had just come from, so it was an interior. Shelke moved around, slowly working herself to her feet. Some of the architecture looked similar to that of the outside..perhaps they had gotten inside? "This must be the temple." Hopefully the legends that her guide had spoken about were false and they didn't slip into hell

Cait Sith had been 'aware' of the entirety of the passage, the ground cracking and pitching upwards. There had been a few attempts at scrabbling, and quite a fair amount of high pitched blather and screeching; the noise from the automaton enough to alert Reeve back in WRO HQ. A feed back saw two bodies flung backwards as Cait Sith toppled and turned, like a spinning top, landing heavily at the base of the Temple arch

"No." She answered plainly to the question, which seemed kind of odd considering it was a stuffed cat she was answering to. "We have to contact the others and continue our objective." They had come to the temple for a specific objective, and abandoning that because they were now in a different pairing order seemed counter-productive. They had gotten inside as desired. "If we are unable to contact any one else, we should assume they are investigating the temple and continue forward." Staying in one place would yield no productivity in any way.

Shelke looked over to Shera with some consideration. Cait and herself might have been able to handle anything that came there way, but Shera was a scientist and probably without much resistance to anything if they were to encounter some dangers.

Cait Sith practically beamed. "Y'know if yer ever want yer fortune told or have a need to find something~" There was some mischieviousness in the facial features "Yer jus' havetae ask the right questions!" A nod was given then as Cait Sith waved one white-gloved hand-paw. Attempting then to move towards Shera there was a crackle at the cat's hindquarters. "Gosh! I'm sparking! A- A little help, lassie?"
