Silly internet writing contest + Dinosaurs

Apr 29, 1995 14:27

Barry didn’t pay much attention to the velociraptor on the bus. These things happen in Florida. He settled in and started plotting for the eliminations that night - he had twelve writers on the hook and he was going to get rid of so many of them. He fwahaha-ed quietly to himself and rubbed his hands together in true maniacal glee.

The raptor smiled a toothy grin. She knew what was up, and all her favorite writers - all who yet remained - would be saved. She couldn’t bear to see any more eliminations - it was too brutal, even for a killing machine like herself. No poll meant no eliminations. No eliminations meant no more writers joining the ranks of the fallen. Plus, she’d get dinner out of the deal.

Barry never saw the raptor coming, but Larry did. He shook his head as the clone went down under the fierce assault. Using a decoy was a good idea - this contest was brutal, but he was the Eliminator. Never the Eliminated. And he planned to keep it that way.

Unfortunately for him, Larry forgot that velociraptors hunt in packs.

Back in his secret fortress, Gary watched the monitors and tsked quietly to himself. Decoy clones were expensive, but so worth it. A few clicks and the polls are up. The dinosaurs would just have to manage their disappointment.

The game would go on.
