A sense of accomplishment

My life has taken on all sorts of crazy and is moving at a speed my husband and I have no other word for other than "insane".  It's left my brain pretty much mush, but during the times I'm waiting for some child to finish whatever activity they happen to be at, I do manage to find a couple of moments of respite to relax and go back to one of my ( Read more... )

This is simply gorgeous! I love the highlights and the shading, as well as the facial expressions.

You picked a good kit and did a fabulous job with it!

Why thank you! I love working with patterns by this designer because she puts so much detail into her pieces.

Hi,
I'm not exactly sure how I stumbled on here. I was looking for patterns, and yours was on page 20 or something. (Yes, I obsess about the perfect pattern). This is gorgeous! The one I'm working on...have been working on since I graduated high school...was becoming too comlicated for me. I'm probably going to have to tear up a lot of the stitches since I got the numbers wrong on one of the large centre flowers. It's a design with five large dahlias and other small flowers for a table centrepiece.
I better get back to it. Well done!

Thank you very much! It's so nice to meet a fellow lover of the art!

I'm sorry to hear to you will have to be ripping out stitches. That's never a fun thing to do, and I usually have to fix something in every project I do. In fact, this one has an error in it that by the time I discovered it, there was no way I was going to rip it out. When I did the band of red at the bottom of the quilter's skirt, I duplicated a row by mistake. I was already a third of the way through the blue when I came to the spot where I'd messed up. Fortunately this pattern was able to absorb the error without causing me too many problems.

Good luck on finishing your project and your quest for other patterns.

Thank you!
I'm not afraid to admit it was a little ambitious for a beginner but well, my only excuse is that I was 18 and therefore my mother telling me I should stick to a simpler project made me run the other way.
I wish ( and not for the first time) that I had listened to her. I woul have had this finished by now. But never fear! I'll finish it and pick something simpler next time.
Good luck with your future projects as well!
