Pennsic?

Jan 19, 2010 18:17

Ok, I'm toying with Pennsic this year, even if it means missing most of WW.

What do people suggest I start doing now to get ready that even if I don't go wouldn't go to waste? What should I have for clothes/gear?

Pennsic "virgin" wants to know!

Not on the insulin. I'm a pill popper along with diet etc. I do think though that getting a medic alert bracelet would be a very good idea before I go.

Def. this! Also, a lot of camps have meal plans that you can buy into. They are generally a pretty good deal if you can find one.

You won't be able to do everything. Just accept that before you go. Carry a container of liquid with you. It is easy to lose track and not drink. Food, too. You can always stop at the booth, too. We always have water and snacks.

You know enough for packing from other long events. That won't be an issue for you. It is just much more spread out, your car will be a million miles away, and there will be MUCH walking.

Have fun! I would be happy to chat more about it sometime.

I think you can still register with the Chirurgeons so that they have a record that you are diabetic connected to your medallion number, if you want to. I did that when I was pregnant.

Plan to fence? I know people buy those roll-y golf caddies for their swords for the lugging at Pennsic.

Or at least, I've heard that they do...
