Subtitled: The art of traveling light

For the New Zealand trip, I think I traveled the lightest I ever have. I was traveling in a developed country, and I wasn’t planning on camping, and those decisions helped lighten my pack-it isn’t that I’m a packing/traveling genius or something.

It seems much easier to travel light when going to a warm place where you need few clothes and where washed clothes dry quickly. We've also done the "just a carry-on backpack" method for various several-week trips to warm places. Convenient indeed! :)

I traveled several times with a guy who honestly could have had a kitchen sink in one of his suitcases. I don't travel as lightly as you, but I rarely check luggage. Watching this guy pack was ... upsetting. His choice, he wasn't a novice traveler, but I had to leave the room to stop myself giving unwanted advice in an increasingly obnoxious tone of voice. LOL!
