right, having been wokring in my pub for nearly three weeks now, it confuses me that regulars come in and have exactly the same drink, every single time, no exception ( Read more... )

what's sad is when you know you've been at the pub far too long and you know every regular by name and what they drink AND what time they always come in, not to mention what car they drive so you can have their pint waiting for them when they come through the door. you also know what drink they change to when they get sick of too many lagers, for instance when danny has too many carlsbergs he always changes to a bloody mary, and james switches from carling to whiskey and coke... that's when you also know they're heading off home in a bit.

p.s. changing a barrel is easier and quicker than pouring a pint!

maybe they've been there so long they've tried EVERYTHING else in the pub already and that's the only thing they like...?

wouldnt surprise me, most of them are pretty old....but surely you can never try EVERYTHING? there are just too many combinations....
