The week has been stressalicious, to the point where I've been contemplating killing all humans; starting with the five year olds ( Read more... )

I'm sorry for your frustrations, but what you do in response doesn't make you a sap it makes you a *teacher* and a good person.

And... yay pay rise!

♥ Thanks.

I am quite sappy, though. I may have shed a tear or two. I think it's a culmination of exhaustion, hormones and conflicting emotions. I want to try to do the best by these kids, but they really test my patience.

Again, that's what makes you a *teacher* that you want to do your best by them even when they test your patience. Cut yourself some of the slack that you are working so hard at cutting your kids. ♥

I'm not being hard on myself at all. I'm simply stating fact. I don't think of 'sap' as an insult, if that's what you're referring to.

I've hated this week. I've spent the whole of it going "ARGH!!!! Freaking students! Go AWAY!!!! I want the summer back. How did I ever think that I missed them????"

And then today I taught this lad how to sex mice and he was so enthusiastic about learning such a simple thing that I started to remember how good the good days can be ^_^

*hugs* What you do is amazing. It's not surprising that it gets tough sometimes - what you're doing is hard, your support network is miles away, you don't have assistance communicating all day, you're encountering cultural differences, with a language barrier, and you're dealing with small children, who can be bloody-minded, obstinate shits with unerring talent for pressing buttons at the best of times. It's not surprising there are times when it all seems like it's too much - but it clearly isn't.

You're doing a fantastic job. ♥
