He always tried to avoid historical events. Well, that was a lie. He tried not to impact the outcome. Yes, yes, that was pretty much a lie too. He did his very best not to get caught up with those involved. All right, so far, none of these statements were true.

That was how he found himself affecting an American accent, kitted up, standing on the outskirts of Easy Company, of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, U.S. 101st Airborne Division, as they travelled from one site to another. It had started with being asked to judge the fifthtieth annual Chelonian flower arranging competition. And had ended up in Normandy. No, he didn’t know how. Timey wimey and spacey wacey things were involved
