Can I just have a little bit of your talent? Just a pinch, to make me more fun at parties.

Thank you for making me giggle so early in the morning. I have an entire Monday to get through and this will help me enormously.

whee! Gene-in-the-future never gets old, especially coupled with Futurama and questionable use of a banana. <3

HAHAHAHA. MAKING THE SUBTEXT TEXT.

Thank you. Gene in the future is always just so. damn. amusing. And even though reason dictates he probably wouldn't be a Futurama fan, I can't help but think he'd fall deeply in love with Bender.

Gene *is* Bender. Oh my god. I never thought about it before this moment but now I am going to have a difficult time not thinking about it constantly.

Thanks for the early morning (here, at least) smiles!

Ah yes. The revelation.

AND? WE KNOW MATT LIKES FUTURAMA! (TRA references to heads in jars.) So it may not be entirely accidental.

Thank you :D

Things they have in common:

~They're best friends with a man out of time. And, even though they're known to do mean things, they clearly love them.
~They drink and smoke a lot. A whole lot. It appears to fuel them (or, well, it actually does fuel Bender.)
~They have an insane amount of confidence in themselves. That sometimes wavers.
~They love being the centre of attention.
~They're sexist, politically incorrect and crass. But despite this, we love them - we find them amusing, and maybe a little bit of us wishes we were them.
~They like to refer to themselves in the third person; "Bender is great, Bender is great" and "Gene Hunt does not pick girly locks!"

Things they don't have in common:

... er ...

~One of them's a human and the other a robot?
~Mexican and Mancunian.

Things they might have in common:
~Bender dresses up as a fembot in "Bend Her" for his own nefarious gains - there's the suggestion in 2.07 that Gene dresses up as his wife (I still can't decide if that's really what Mark was alluding to, but it certainly seems ( ... )

I'm glad it was still enjoyable, even for someone who's not seen the show.

I've been a fan of Futurama for years - it never fails to make me happy.
