25th Gryffindor Note [Action/Voice]

Jan 11, 2011 09:18

[ Hermione's been thinking about the DA and what Xion talked to her about a few days ago. As far as she's concerned, it's high time the DA's started to get actively involved in Luceti. It's high time they became protectors and not just a secret society. So, for all you DA members (check the OOC post), she's looking out for you all to talk to you.

*da people, fishing for intellectuals, .xion, the insufferable know-it-all, always prepared, question for the masses, because i'm brilliant that's why, need answers, hermione's knowledge saves lives, when in doubt go to the library, things never end well for us, research time, things have gotten interesting, luceti will never stop surprising me

... I think a lot of people here have had to make that choice already.

Perhaps. How would you say they have?

[She is gauging interest, okay.]

I was thinking of the filial spirits, myself-- when you said "someone else's" magic.

Then we're thinking the same. Have you tried it out yet?

Without a moment's hesitation, yes, I would protect them. And though I cannot speak for experience in learning magic, I have trained with others to learn their own unique skills and techniques while teaching them how to defend themselves from attackers using the knowledge I have collected over years of training...and fighting.

Magic isn't something you're familiar or comfortable with?

I am not entire familiar in how one uses or learns it. Sorcery and magic arts are a bit of a mystery in my world. Only beings great power...or of a rather sinister origin, know how to wield it. However, this does not mean I fear or despise it, only what some have used it for.

I understand. It would seem magic is the easiest power to abuse in most worlds. It's seen the same such use in mine as well, though there are plenty more who use magic for good purposes as well.

Of course!

[A moments pause as he contemplates the revised question.]

Oh. I can't use magic. [He sounds a bit hesitant.] At least not my own world's. I understand that Luceti has it's own kind though.

Luceti has what's called Filial Magic. I assume you haven't considered learning any of it yet.

I have actually. [The only problem is that never having been able to use it, he's doesn't have the first clue about magic really.] I'm just not sure how that would work out for me.

You won't know until you try, right?

[... Why would you bother to ask a question and then rephrase it like that?]

Why do you wanna know?

[She has her reasons :T]

Call me curious. I'd like to see how many people think like this here.

[And they wouldn't have anything to do with a recruitment campaign, would they?]

Pretty specific wording for someone who's just "curious". [What, paranoid, never.]

[They just might!]

I suppose so. Can you blame someone who's used to protecting others with magic for wanting to know who else would want to do the same thing?

If I could? Definitely.

[ elena? not the strongest of fighters. but she'll do whatever she's capable of to protect who she loves. (like attempt to turn herself over to the oldest vampire in history.) ]

[Well, hey, she got a good vibe from Elena. That's a start, right?]

Have you wanted to try learning Filial magic yet or has no one told you about it?

[ hermione can't see it, but elena's blinking at the journal. ]

Uh - I've never heard of it until now. What is it? The same kind you were using to help me?

No, it's different, quite different, actually. Filial magic is more elemental-type magic. It requires bending the elements such as water, earth, fire, wind, and others.
