Not another movie casting thread!

It's amazing the crack one's brain churns out in the wee hours of the morning when one is not quite awake...

The downsides to Hollywood's habit of butchering canon to suit themselves when they adapt a book to film are too numerous and obvious to mention. One good thing about it, though, is that it opens roles up for awesome actors who'd otherwise never be considered if they were sticking strictly to canon.

Or that's how I've been justifying this slightly deranged idea to myself all day, anyway.

Seriously, though, I think Will Smith could pull off some of Crowley's lines with tremendous panache. ("Whole damn sea full of brains." "Oh lord, heal this bike," and the whole bit where he pulls over to ask directions in the flaming Bentley...) And Anthony Stewart Head, well, he's not only incredibly talented but he's appropriately British anyway! Bonus! XD

So, for a twist on the old-movie casting thread: if you were doing it, and canonical accuracy was taking a back seat to just making a great film with great actors--or if you were deliberately re-interpreting the story in a different context--who would you choose?
