Very upsetting news

Terry Pratchett announces he's been diagnosed with a rare form of early-onset Alzheimer's.

Doesn't sound like there's much fans can do at this point, but thousands of people sending good vibes never hurts.

I was just about to post this. Thanks for doing it though, as mine would have included a good bit of profanity. I know the discworld people are talking about sending him a card of some sort, or something. I was thinking we could either join in with them (I don't know how many members we might have in common, if any) or do something ourselves. Not sure what yet, I'm kind of depressed right now, Prachett's one of my all time favorite authors. DAMN IT.

This is depressing, but he certaintly seems to be taking it in stride. That makes me feel a bit better.

Oh! That's awful--good vibes sent his way from this end.

I'm glad he specifically used the word "optimistic" because it gives all his fans a little hope.
