Drabble x-posted to go100. I got sick of the wing-colour argument; the book does say angel and demon wings are the same, but it never says either sides' have to be any specific colour. Also, reference to the Cthulhu Mythos Hastur (a.k.a. The King in Yellow) because I will never get tired of that.

As he sat beside Aziraphale, the angel’s white wings brushed against Crowley’s black. One like pearl, the other like an oil slick. Both shone with rainbows, in the right light.

I think I'm in love. <3

I really like this, the last line especially. Describing the other angels and demons wings it a nice build up to make that line stand out.

Thanks! Been trying to point out those same things for years now :)

I do like the ending line, very much.

Thanks :) I just think it's a silly thing to argue about as much as people do. Besides, stained-glass windows show angels with multicoloured wings, and since both sides can shapeshift anyway isn't it more fun to personalise a little? I'm quite keen to draw this at some point ...

Spot on. If it's not said specifically in canon -- and it's not -- then wings can be whatever the heck they decide to make it (perhaps even tartan).

Stained glass images are the most colourful of all :) Got a gallery of hundreds on photobucket.

I bet Aziraphale tried tartan once or twice. White's the good old standby, though.
