I'm not really a big country music fan, but I was talking to my friend/co-worker Angela and she told me about his song. She found the lyrics and read them to me...and there we both were in her office crying. It's just such a beautiful, sad (and happy) song. I just have to share it.

You have to HEAR the song to fully appreciate it. It's a hidden track on their last CD, and they never planned to release it as a single, until fans began begging for it at shows. I was at the first show where they performed it live and Gary (the lead vocalist) forgot a whole verse because he was so choked up.

I knew you'd know the song. It is beautiful and I really do want to hear it. I'm getting the CD for Angela for her birthday new week so I'll get to hear it then and I can also make a copy. :o)

I was just going to mention the 2 things that the above posters have --- you have to HEAR the song and SEE the video. The lyrics made you cry? JUST WAIT! You're going to be bawling. (I am each and every time I hear it!)

If you want, I can upload it for you. I don't want to ruin the surprise though if you want to wait and hear it when you get the whole CD.

p.s. almost baseball!!

I am so *not* a country music fan at all - I can't stand the twang in their voices (possibly because some people talk like that around here, and I unavoidably associate it with the racist, sexist, homophobic white-guy mentality).

Buuut country music does have the ability to make me cry faster than any other genre. There are many country songs I secretly harbour a fondness for because of the story they tell. I only hear what gets played on contemporary stations, but the ones I do hear ... man. "Live like you were dying" makes me cry, as do all those sweet father/child ones.

Counrty music songs are definitely heartstring pullers (does that even make sense?...I'm sure you know what I mean).
