Family Visits...How Often? Please Vote!

Drat, I realized I didn't put a "I see them just the right amount option," and now I can't edit. Sorry, ladies....I guess if you are in that category and don't answer that question I can calculate who falls in that category

My IL's come usually every year and a half but that wasn't an option.
I also usually see my parents twice a year, again, not an option.

Sorry, Peabody! It was surprisingly difficult for me to come up with the categories!

That's alright. Either way, we see my parents more because they live closer(6 hours) but really only us going their once and them coming here once.
My IL's live several states away(YAY) and so I have actually only seen them 2 times in 4 years(and once was the wedding). This July will make 3 times.

That was really interesting to read. It's surprised me that people don't think they spend enough time with their parents (even though I answered the same thing). I was actually thinking about starting a poll asking sort of the same thing. ;)

I was surprised that most people saw their parents and in-laws more or less equally, because the belief is always that the wife's parents are seen more. There was a tremendous difference though in how often most people want to see parents vs. in-laws! Thanks for participating!

When I was single, I saw my folks at least once a month if not more. Now that I'm married, it's hard to get the time off to see them.

I see my in-laws often mainly just because they watch K for us during the day. I think right now, I'm split down the middle on whether or not it's a good thing on how often I see them. It's not that I don't like them or love them or whatever, it's just that we have our own lives and we, or at least me, want to live it on our own sometimes without people looking over our shoulder!

Don't get me wrong--my in-laws bug me--but I think if we saw them more often than once or twice a year, each occasion wouldn't be quite so loaded. And they're actually great people, as are my parents, so I'd love my son to have a daily/weekly familiarity with them (instead of having them be "those old people we see at Christmas" kind of thing.)

Interesting.. it seems as though American's move a lot more within the country and often live in a different state than where they were raised.. I think the results would be a little different for Canadians.
Anyway, I found you on Sarah's journal and saw your scrapbook page on your user page.. I'm getting into scrapbooking for my baby's album and would love to see more inspiration. Would you like to friend me? :)
