It starts off with a haircut. Or rather, Sam thinks, it started off with Dean’s mouth open and going, as if because he keeps it closed so much, when it opens, he has no control over it.
I just need to take a minute here to say that your voice in this is simply incredible. Lines like,
Wanting. Wanting what? Nothing. There is nothing to want.
were so piquant and precise. Also your lack of contraction in, The thought might make him smile, if he could think it clearly, but he cannot. caught me for some reason as just so perfect, right inside the voice of this. You never slip or waver and just this one chapter has been such a pleasure.
Oh, my goodness, what a lovely thing to say, thank you! I so love Sam, and I realize, yeah, he's more casual in his everyday speech than this, but sometimes in your mind, it comes out like this.
Okay, I read the first 5 paragraphs and now have to STOP to go get me some greasy, yummy breakfast food from the Greek diner down the road. Back later!
Oh, YEAH!!!! A fellow foodie! I've had parts of this breakfast, but nothing this good that included everything being perfect, alas! I'm still looking though.
I am already ridiculously in love with this story. I don't know what to do with myself.
Your descriptions are so intense! I love them! First there is FOOD, then HAIRCUT, then HANDJOB. So powerful!
I love how it's already dove into the Wincest, I love how decisively Dean moved into this - and with a minimum of angst, which is a nice contrast to a lot of fics I've read. And I love Sam's thoughts and feelings, so much.
Favorite quote, I think:
Sam will find his own girl. When he’s ready. Today does not look good. Tomorrow doesn’t look much better. His brain tells him this. His body is furious.
But I really love the descriptions all through the last scene, too. Especially Sam listening to Dean getting undressed as his brain provides images, and everything after that.
Oh, you make my day, you really do. And I'm glad you think Dean is effective her, sometimes, it's fun for him to be angsty and other times, yeah, he does what needs to be done. Deanishly. : D
Poor Sam....he never knew he wanted it. Now he does.
I love Sam's voice here. Your description of that haircut was so incredibly sensual. it was hotter than most porn. Sam will find his own girl. When he’s ready. Today does not look good. Tomorrow doesn’t look much better. His brain tells him this. His body is furious. *laughs*
And Dean checking this off his list and then rolling over, without really giving Sam a chance to reciprocate.
Yes, Dean's like that, isn't he. Doing his job (and Sam is his job), getting it done, taking care of business, and that's it. Without reward or thought of reward. Ah, Dean.
Thank you for the lovely compliment about how the haircut was hotter than porn!
I really like your take on their relationship; the way Sam describes the list(s) that Dean carries around in his head, always ready to be referred to, and how he's both honoured and angry by those lists. I enjoyed the way his brain argued with his body over what would be best for it.
I like how you make Dean a bit of a neat freak. I know many stories have him as a bit of a slob but it always made more sense to me that he would be more organized than that and for exactly the reasons you state: if something bursts in, you don't want to be fumbling for your weapons or tripping over your clothes.
Also your descriptions are fantastic. The breakfast had me drooling... and so did the haircut but for an entirely different reason. =}~~~
Oh yeah, I've got an older sister who I think has the same kind of lists. It makes me frustrated that she doesn't think I can't take care of myself too, but it's very sweet, and so I think Sam would be the same. : D
Yes, Dean is a neat freak! It doesn't mean he can't throw fast food wrappers in the back seat while he's driving, but I'll bet you, the first chance he gets, he cleans them up.
And the breakfast? It's a fantasy of mine. I'm still looking. : D
