Companion Love Thread

Further to fantasyjax's post earlier, I got to thinking about the awesomeness of the companions and how I wished there was some sort of love-in post. So I decided I really should make that myself. I'll put the names of the companions in individual comments to this entry - feel free to reply to a companion's comment with why you love them, or a moment where ( Read more... )

She puts the Doctor in his place when he needs it; she pwns him all the time.

She's...Possibly the closest of the old series companions to Rose, in terms of the openly emotional relationship with the Doctor. In a way she's 'safe', being his first female companion over 30, which allows them to develop a deeper connection.

She snarls at him, she teases him, she feeds him cake. He cuddles with her and loves her to bits. It's perfection.

Fifty-five years old and still saving the world, still passionate and compassionate, ready to strive and fight and learn. She saw Six at his worst and stuck by him in the most horrible circumstances. And she made the Doctor go back and change history not once, but twice - "I did it - for her, do you understand?" I dunno about you, but I understoond that they were in love.

I want to be Evelyn when I grow up.

She stands up to the Doctor. She is addicted to chocolate. She wears an orange cardigan in Tudor London and gets Six out of that outfit. She sticks with him through traumatic times. And she promises to make him a chocolate cake 'if he's good' about two minutes after she called him a lunatic.

She understands people -not just her students, but the Doctor as well. And Six was very, very much in need of someone who could both mother him and kick his ass!

Because she understood Six in a way that no one else has and thus made him into a brilliant character. She loves her students and she loves traveling with the Doctor, but she's not afraid to say she needs a break. She thinks chocolate can solve everything and that sometimes you just need to more concerned about your physical comfort than historical accuracy.
