Has anyone else used Aim Talk to talk to their SOs? Is there any better programs out there that works better? It works but sometimes for me it would lag or break up occasionally.

I prefer Yahoo or MSN because of the archive feature (as far as I know, AIM doesn't offer one).

oh nmy there are PLENTY of bettter programs out there.

There is a free site that you have to join, called For The People. It is mainly a blind place, but sighted people work there too. If you use Internet Explorer than I would recommend that for you. It is clear, clean and has private rooms for you and your SO to talk in.

yeah than Id go with forthepeople..

I know a lot of great voice chatting sites cause of having many blind friends online. That one is the best I would recommend witout having to DL some really odd stuff!

For a voice program, I've used Skype. I find it really handy and it even worked well when I was stuck on dial-up for awhile

I suggest Skype, too. It's free, it's got excellent sound quality, and it never lags. It also doesn't usually screw up when we use a video program and talk at the same time. We've loaded up Yahoo and Skype at the same time and, voila, we have video and voice conferencing.

It's awesome.

I use AIM video. It's small but it runs like water. :)
