Fourth of July is just around the corner. Since it isn't celebrated here in Japan there's no place to go see fireworks. Instead, I'm thinking backyard BBQ party.

Well, more like back porch BBQ party. But that's just details.

Who's interested? It's free food, good music and fun. What more do you want?

I will definitely join you. I can even help with the decorations and food if you would like. I think it is a great idea.

Great! Good thing too, cuz I'd burn the food all to hell. Hahahaha. And probaly take out our porch too, if you want the truth.

Lets just see if we can snag us some more partiers first. Otherwise we'll just have to made due on our own.

What's Fourth of July? I mean... it's just the fourth day of July, right?

Oh... I never knew. I don;t pay attention to other countries holidays. What do you do on Fourth of July? Grace mentioned something about fireworks... Why fireworks?

Dunno that it has any real meaning behind it. Far as I know it's just to celebrate.

Is this your chosen venue to rid yourself of colonial notions?

[No. Wait. She won't understand what he's saying. The fight's on his mind, and he wants it over with.]

Rather, is this were you would have me overthrown?

It's a party, genius. [She rolls her eyes.] You know how quick it'd spoil it if we started throwing punches in the middle of a celebration? If your so eager for it, then come to the party and we'll fight after everyone else leaves.

[he raises his eyebrows, though his voice and face don't otherwise change] I was imagining the effective cover of political reenactment considering the occasion:
An appropriate battle for your independance, though a fight hand to hand seems...rather parochially colonial.
I imagine the Irish Code Duello is rather out of use...

[Tea and biscuits afterwards. If nothing else, he's ready to have a box of imported Earl Grey delivered to her door.]

To battle, even in public sight, is only a matter of dignity in bearing.
Time yet exists to find costume and appropriate accompaniment.

[His eyes flick to her over the camera]
I'd not intend to defeat someone in a mere barrom brawl.
This is a duel.

Unless your American, you probaly wouldn't know. It's a celebration of independence. But since I'm in Japan right now, I'm just going to have a big cookout.
