As for books...um....shit. Let me think. In My Skin by Kate Holden is really good (even though I haven't finished it yet). It's a memoir about a really smart average girl who becomes a drug addict and eventually a prostitute. The writing is sort of just okay but the images behind it are great.
Also, Breathers: A Zombie's Lament by S.G. Brown is an amusing, albeit kind of strange book about a world in which the undead are fairly common. It's told through the point of view of one of them and although I'm not very far into it, I'm highly amused. You'll read a whole chapter and then towards the end of it, there's just one line that makes you laugh like crazy. And these are the only two real books I've read lately, except for some historical fiction, which I doubt you're interested in. AND BAWWWWWWWWWWWWW DONT LEAVE ME BBY D:
