D2 Pimp Post || A Bunch of 16 Bouncy, Weird Kiddos part I

I am still new in the fandom so I can't possibly write everything about them here. ;_; Mostly basic, and the things I've learned from my friends. But I promise to put whatever I've read for the past couple of months!

About D2
D2 is an all-male acting group under Watanabe Entertainment. They originated in 2008 with the first three members Yamaguchi Kenki, Kamitsuru Toru and Jinnai Sho. Later on, another couple of sets were added until they became 10, and before 2010 ended, 6 more members were added and they officially had 16 members.
Though at some point, they were 17, until Konno Ryotaro left the company and Shison Jun was added to complete the 16 boys.
D2 is also considered as D-BOYS' brother group, until later last year they were all added as official members of D-BOYS (but D2 unit still remains).
Their works
Every member gets their own projects, but the also have group activities such as D-Stages, Variety Shows (D2 no Meshi Tomo!, TV Kyokuchuu Hatto), movies etc.
✽ D-STAGE
- These are the theater activities of D-BOYS and D2 members. So far, they already had 14 D-Stages, and will have their 15th D-Stage on October this year. Various members appeared in different D-Stages such as Jinnai Sho and Akutsu Shintaro in Samishii Magnet Blue (10th), all D2 members in TRUMP (12th), Arai Atsushi, Ikeoka Ryosuke, Omi Youichiro and Yamaguchi Kenki in Twelfth Night (14th) and a lot more. {Note: Apart from D-Stages, they also appear in different butais individually}

✽ Variety Shows
- D2 no Meshi Tomo! has 3 volumes - Tokyo hen, Osaka hen and Bokura no Ryori hen. This basically like a show wherein they try various foods. They either went by 2's or 3's.

- TV Kyokuchuu Hatto was the very first regular TV program of D2. It deals with the Shinsengumi, a military force in Japan during the late Tokugawa/early Meiji period. This was hosted by Ishizuka Hidekiko and Satou Jirou, as Shinsengumi leaders Kondou Isamu and Hijikata Toshizou respectively. Aside from their short dramas they also sang a total of 8 songs for the program, which are all still mainly about Shinsengumi.

✽ Personal DVDs
- The First Message DVDs. These were couple DVD releases which was supposed to be yearly, I think. They successfully released the first two DVDs in 2011 (Precious featuring Jinnai Sho x Omi Youichiro and Versus featuring Arai Atsushi x Akutsu Shintaro) and another 2 in 2012 (For You featuring Yamaguchi Kenki x Mitsuya Ryo and Endless Summer featuring Ikeoka Ryosuke x Shison Jun). But they stopped releasing last year, probably because everyone was busy.
✽ D-LIVE/Event
- Some of the D2 members appeared in Natsu Doko 2011's opening. But some were able to join Haru Doko 2011, including the last set of members added (Maeyama Takahisa, Yamada Yuki, Tsuchiya Shion, Ookubo Shotaro and Konno Ryotaro) who were also introduced during the live. In 2012, they were able to have their very first D-Live, Haru Doko, that only has D2 members alone. Last year, they had a Bakumatsu/Samurai Festival Live wherein they sang all the TV Kyokuchuu Hatto songs.

✽ Movies/Dramas
- In 2010, the first 10 members were able to make a movie together called Pole Dancing Boys. It was basically about 8 guys who learned pole dancing. On the other hand, Jinnai Sho acted as the DJ, while Negishi Takuya acted as Tohru's younger brother. They've also appeared in various movies though separately.
Clearly, they have also appeared in a lot of dramas, but they most of them have joined different Tokusatsu shows (Jinnai Sho, Yamada Yuki, Tsuchiya Shion, Arai Atsushi etc). In the present time, Shison Jun is one of the lead in the super sentai show Ressha Sentai Toqger. Shiramata Atsushi was also in Kamen Rider Gaim, and Negishi Takuya in Ultra Man Ginga.
✽ Photobooks
- Pole Dancing Boys PB was released along with the movie. But they were also able to release their very first group photo book, Always, in 2012. On the other hand, Yamada Yuki was the first one to release his own solo photo book. And last May, Omi Youichiro, Mitsuya Ryo and Ikeoka Ryosuke released their own solo pbs altogether for the revival of D-BOYS Prince Series Collection. It has also been announced that Shison Jun will have his own pb released this upcoming August.
