I could see the side of this argument, but the sheer gall they have to act as though she's wrong for being a confident woman is disgusting. It just reeks of condescension and judgment, and it is creeping me out.

This just tends to remind me of how if I stuck with my BMI all the time, I'd get comments from the rest of society about how I'd need to lose weight mostly because of where it ends up sticking. So I end up "underweight" a lot. Ugh.

The fat vs skinny vs "healthy" argument seems to just get worse every day. And it's usually due to how people phrase it and view it, as pointed out above.

YOUR BODY IS OKAY IF I TELL YOU IT IS OKAY! :D :D :D

Also as someone who is "dangerously underweight", I call bullshit that people treat my weight the same as they treat "dangerously overweight" people.

The idea that I may not be in the best of health because of my weight is hardly ever stated right out, and very very occasionally hinted at. When it is, it is in a way that is totally concerned -- poor little thing, are you sure you're all right, do you need any help doing ___, etc etc etc. I'm doted on. I'm not shamed.

And that's when it's mentioned in less than glowing light, which is a hell of a lot less than when people are gushing about how elegant and slender I am. :|

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.
