32. | Fanmix: Promise Prophesied.
Believe it or not, I started this project on Friday. Yes, Friday as in New Year's Eve. I've never had a fanmix come together this quickly before! I think that's purely a testament to my extreme adoration (/obsession) with both the film and the character of Morgaine. Honestly, I've been so pre-occupied with the film and over the weekend, this mix, since I first saw it on December 26th that I've had time for little else. Apparently the sixth battle at legendland begins this week? What? UH, I HAD FORGOTTEN BECAUSE THE MISTS OF AVALON ATE MY BRAIN. Heh.
Anyway, a few notes:
(a) Essentially, this is my love letter (of sorts) to the character of Morgaine le Fay as portrayed by both Tamsin Egerton and the amazing Julianna Margulies in The Mists Of Avalon (2001).
(b) All songs are from her point of view and flow in chronological order. And, yes, I covered the entire film, but not the books, of course, as I haven't read those yet. I tried to include most of her important relationships (Arthur, Lancelot, Viviane, Mordred, The Goddess), though there were a few I couldn't find songs for (Accolon, Igraine, Morgause, etc.), unfortunately.
(c) The mix is tied together with a corresponding quote for each song. I had originally planned to include small descriptions of each song's scene/setting/purpose, but I eventually abandoned that idea, as I felt the quotes rendered them superfluous.
(d) 'Tis my longest mix to date, as I generally opt for 6-song EPs.
(e) I'm seriously half-asleep right now, so I really hope my notes make sense and are as comprehensive as I had intended. Knowing me, however, I'm sure I'll end up editing/clarifying this [note portion] later.

"She was wearing a mask. It was at the rites of Beltane; I was concecrated there. We made love. It was everything I ever dreamt of. I tell you, sister, something about that girl's eyes will be watching me forever."

"Then I heard a sound I had not heard for years: the bell of Glastonbury."
