Dinah has choke-laughed at the 'canary' mention, and now reached over to poke Priestly's shoulder. "You look marvelous, dahling. The audience won't know what hit them. I'm taking video to send to everybody." Jaime hadn't remembered who Sentience was, so this had to happen. "As per usual!"

Dinah was turning red in the twilight, so she leaned over to poke at Mark. "Groupies is so twentieth-century. We're his audience, thank you."

Dinah sent a mass text to everyone who knew Priestly in New Gotham, and all their friends outside of it:

Priestly hit by car, in NG hospital, in surgery. Broken leg / road rash / concussion

Saved a girl's life, pushed her out of car's way

Surgery taking forever but he is stable. Docs think will be OK

[ooc: and open for anyone who gets this, as you'd expect.]

Of course she had to, silly Dinah! In fact..... there. Receipt of portal order was in her inbox!

She sent Jaime a quick text, then replied to Dinah:

Of course I do! Be there soon. Eat something. Priestly is going to be fine!!!

"/Mom! Dad!/" She grabbed her bag and flew down the stairs. "/Priestly's been hit by a car. I have to go!/"

Her father was about to object, but Momoko had already kissed his cheek and turned for the door. "/I promise to come back and be grounded again as soon as everything is fine./"

Visiting hours were well and truly over by the time Priestly made it out of surgery and recovery and into a regular hospital room, but the hospital was unprepared for the combined forces of Priestly's friends. Everyone's family included mobs of people from varying racial and regional backgrounds, right?

Priestly was reasonably unprepared, too, what with being on a morphine drip with his leg all bandaged up and elevated. Right now he was thoroughly enjoying the way it made the room seem to float around him. Like he was in some sort of . . . snow globe. Or one of those weird little glittery plastic things with fish in them.

He snickered to himself. Man, those things were so totally dirty. . . .

"Hey, Sous. How're you feeling?" Dinah's outside voice was very quiet, in case that concussion was still making his head hurt. Her inside voice wasn't any louder: Okay if I crash in your room tonight?

Priestly gave her a broad, doofy grin. He was not entirely certain his head or leg were still attached, just at this moment.

"Heyyyyyy," he whispered. She was doing it, so he would, too! "Just tell Priestly to leave you room on the bed." Wait, no, that wasn't right. "Stevesie. The fuzzy one. Fuzzier."

He was feeling remarkably fuzzy just now, after all.

Dinah snickered, relieved he was feeling No Pain, and dragged a chair over to the side of his bed to sit down. "That answers that question." She squeezed his hand. "I'm gonna call Tia, tell her to feed Stevesie, as soon as you're asleep, all right?"

I'm so glad you're okay, dude. Jaime and Momoko are on their way. Karla might be too.

"Do you need anything?"
