If you do end up taking a train, then you can do your art work while on the train. Plus, you may find, after walking around Berkeley and SF (which are both so so so awesome) that you may be more inspired to do your book than just having stayed at home. Everyone needs a vacation--especially you because you Deserve one!

nice survey. It made me want to go on vacation too!

I'm from San Francisco. Let me know if you need any recommendations, or have any questions.

And I am driving to Eugene on Wednesday night and back on Sunday or Monday night. (I'm staying at my parents' farm and taking a mini-vacation too.) I don't know if that helps you at all, but I'm always looking for company for the drive. Maybe you might find a rideshare from Eugene.

oh, it's tempting. But that is a looong drive that I don't know if I have the energy for. And then once we get there I don't know if I have the energy for my family! Can you wait two weeks? I need to go soon, but...

Do you know how to drive? And like driving long distances? How set are you on staying in Berkely? My family has a house in Marin (in the redwood forest) that I would have to stay at, but it's kinda scary by yourself.

I'm still kind thinking about it. Wednesday through Sunday?

i know have to drive, but i don't have a current liscense. i let mine expire. : [

i'd love to stay in berkeley just to hang out with my friend geoff more, i really miss him a lot.

it looks like i have to leave after monday because someone really needs me to babysit monday... i can't seem to find anyone offerring a rideshare for tuesday, so i was thinking of going with this guy leaving wednesday, but if you're going to go down there i'd rather go with you... i e-know you better. : ]

Hmmm, sounds tempting... you think $150 is all you'll need? Isn't train like $150 one way? I would totally go, I just need to know how much transportation will be!

PS: What's wrong with LJ?... this is the third attempt at replying!

the train is $80 one way, unfortunately, but i have pretty high hopes for successfully nabbing a rideshare..

would you really want to go to? can you get the time off form work on such short notice? from when would you want to leave and come back? it would be even cheaper cost for gas if there were two of us for the rideshare...

Not that I believe you will work on art in Berkeley, because you're going to be distracted and you won't have your best materials -- but I think you'll be glad for the escape, and you'll have more time to jaunt around San Francisco.
