Whereabouts will this be? I guess I could just look up "Last Thursday" and see where it all happens, but I figure asking you specifically where you will be would be more precise. (I don't know for sure that I'll be able to come, since tonight is my designated date night with Kerry, my best friend, but if we get bored of the same old routine, we may swing by.)

last thursday is in ne, on alberta, from about 20th all through 32nd. there is always tons of art for viewing/buying set up along the sidewalks, people dancing in the street, fire blowing/dancing, great food and crafts for viewing/buying too. i wish i could say exactly where we'll be, but i am not sure yet. last thursday set up is first come, first serve, so i will head out around 3 or so and stake out a spot for us. if you end up swinging by, you could totally just give me a call and i can tell you where we ended up finding a spot.
if you've haven't been to last thursday yet, i'd really recommend going, this will be one of the last good ones before winter starts and it kind of dies... whatever you end up doing, though, i hope you have fun!

I bought Risk 2210 a while ago... never really got into it. Some of the commander and card stuff is cool, and I liked the nuked lands thing, but at the end of the day the strategy is still very WWI: mass armies, roll dice for 3 hours, then spend 2 turns fortifying, then attack again, take one country (get to the moon as soon as you can), etc. Are there any house rules you play by?

Now, Axis and Allies - I dig that game, probably because the units have strength/weakness attributes, so you can actually have a few troops and planes defend against a blitzkrieg.

Heh, maybe I have Risk burnout - it was a high point of my oh-so-crazy high school lifestyle.

oh yeah, i could see that. one of the reasons why i like playing any board games with these guys is because they're totally funny and underhanded.
