The shock of "killing" Kirk didn't actually end Spock's pon farr. Spock doesn't know if it's logical to ask for McCoy's help, but he knows he can't let Kirk see him like this.

I've always wondered how exactly little Vulcans learn about pon farr since it's such a taboo subject (I like to think that Amanda explained it to Spock)

I really enjoyed the role reversal here. In most pon farr fics I've seen (of the Spock/McCoy variety, anyway) Spock is quite dominant. Loved seeing McCoy snarky and in control. *g* Nicely done.

That is almost exactly why I wrote it. The world may not need another SuperDom!Spock/McCoy pon farr fic, but there probably aren't that many where McCoy (or Kirk) tops.

As has already been said, it was interesting to see Spock accept dominance from another during pon farr, especially when that other was a good deal weaker physically than him.

McCoy's anger was a sight to behold! McCoy took it, but like a wild cat, spit and scratched the whole way. :-) And yet, in his own way, he was being protective of both Spock and Jim.
