Your planning skills are awesome! I totally expected to know much more than we found out, I got excited about the diary too, but now thinking about it, there wasn't very much there that was too useful, it was all just interesting but not forward moving, there are still pieces missing and once those are revealed, it'll all fall into place and I'll end up being like 'ooooooh! Right!! I see now!!!!'

As for the autopsy, Katsurou is creepy, that was so gross and therefore so much fun! It was hilarious! He's just so blazé about the whole thing, deliberately grossing out Jirou, that's amazing.

Poor Hotaru.

This chapter alone is a million times better than a scented candle!!!

Unless all my planning goes to naught, there is only one chapter and the epilogue left. So once the pieces fall into the place, the story is actually over. *grins*
And you're right: the diary didn't give you much more new information. There were a few significant details in there, but since Minako herself wasn't aware of what was unfolding, neither are the detectives reading her diary.

As for the autopsy, Katsurou is creepy, that was so gross and therefore so much fun! It was hilarious! He's just so blazé about the whole thing, deliberately grossing out Jirou, that's amazing. YES YES YES, blazé is precisely the right word! He's a coroner, so of course, dead people don't gross ( ... )

Uh. Hold the phone! What?! You can't end there! I mean, you can, because you did and it's your story but (yes, here it comes...) OH MY FUCKSY! Ace remembers too!!! That moment between Ace and Katsurou was amazing and I knew he was called McCreepy because he scared some people but it didn't hit with full force until that point, he is terrifying. He drove Ace nuts with a look (ok, Ace is kind of nuts anyway, but still... Yikes!) No kidding, I'm in bed (my phone woke me with the notification email and am I glad it did!!), it's all dark and I am genuinely freaked! That last part, that moment! What role with Katsurou have?! And what did Ace mean?! Is he referring to the SilMil and the Shitennou being evil? Or is this tale twistier?! And don't even get me started on the autopsy! Ew!!! He was pulling out her bowels!! Her BOWELS!!! Poor Jirou!!!! And poor Hotaru! Who was she going to marry?! Where the hell is Rei?! Are all the outers going to die too?! Haruka?! Setsuna?! (Way to start the chapter with that uber moment of sadness and angst! ( ... )

It's a moment of mutual recognition, but Katsurou isn't prone to flipping out, so he just goes completely calm, whereas Ace just looses it. And yes, Katsurou is terrifying. He's an over six foot tall man with prematurely silver hair who almost never smiles and works as a coroner, a job he really enjoys. So yeah, he's odd to the degree of terrifying. Mamoru had almost forgotten about his oddness because at some point, they did click, but when he sees the contrast of Ace and Katsurou, he suddenly remembers how he used to see Katsurou and also finally understands why he saw him that way.

This is so good, and I can't thank you enough for giving me such an interesting and well, addictive tale to read! I genuinely find myself wondering about Whodunnit fic every few days because I love these characters and the story they've been woven into. I don't even mind that they'll all most likely die because it's just that good.

I love the hints at the past relationships, like Jirou noticing the closeness of Mamoru/Katsurou (and even Noboru, who doesn't remember the past, noticed), the Jadeite/Kunzite animosity, and the ACE/KUNZITE OUTRIGHT HOSTILITY!

I am totally intrigued, utterly hooked and eagerly await the next part.

And when I read what you're planning to do with finishing the fic, my eyes went fangirl-shiny and I clasped my hands together. That happy.

Have I recently told you that you are aweome? Because you are. I'm so so happy that this story makes you so so happy. It was a toss-up between finishing the whodunnit for your birthday or writng you an R/J drabble, but this won out because you are so invested in it.

Well, Noboru is convinced that it's two killers, one of which is Beryl. Mamoru hasn't made up his mind yet, and neither has Katsurou.

Good news: the fic is finished, the final two chapters are up now.

I'm glad you liked this scene, it gave me a good bit of trouble while writing it, so I'm extra glad it works. :)
