One of the minor benefits of being the boss, Shawn found, was the power of delegation. Right now, he was abusing that power to a crazy degree. Jordan could be his own damn 'public face of the 4400', he was out for the night.

Luckily, teleporters were easily bribed and Connecticut wasn't such a tough place to get to last minute with a power like that at your... well, your employee's fingertips, technically.

So she was getting a visitor knocking on her door. A little later than he'd hoped, but it was better than nothing.

Lana looked up from her book, startled. She'd thought she was pretty much the only one left in the complex. She got up and crossed the room to the door. "Yes? Who's there?"
