Aww hun I'm sorry. I know how you feel as I've had similar problems with my old laptop.

I left it for a week or so, tried it one last time and it's working fine (at the moment - but long enough for me to back up everything onto disks in case it goes again). Hopefully yours is just having a hissy fit too and will work soon.

If not, try taking out the hard drive and find another computer to borrow. Switch the hard drives over and see if you can retrieve your files that way. Be warned apparently this is a tricky thing so if, like me, you're not incredibly computer-savvy you may want to ask a friend who deals with computers a lot to give you a hand. Just an idea :D

N.B. apparently this only works on P.C.s (the tower ones I think) which is why I had to wait for my laptop to decide to co-operate on it's own accord.

Ok, THX for your help, but my sweet little brother got it all fixed! Saved the files and formated the harddrive! All Photoshop settings gone!! ^^

aww i'm sorry. i HATE when things like this happen. when it happened to me i got so upset that i took it to a computer shop to see if they could salvage my files for me, but they couldn't and ended up wiping windows and it cost me :(

i hope your computer gets better :)
