- what made you want to join loveletters ? It seemed like possibly a good place to post my writing.
- what stops you from applying to loveletters ? I'm really good at procrastination. Also, I don't like critiquing other people's work (so maybe this wouldn't be a good community for me after all).
- what would make you want to apply ? Money. Lots and lots of money.
- how can we better tailor the community to you ? It would be nice to be able to post work here without being a member, although then it might turn into another fictionwriters
- would you like to participate in lurker activities, such as writing tasks or competitions, without having to become an accepted member of loveletters ? Yes. Would I get around to it? I don't know.
- would you like to have some voting rights, e.g. be able to vote in the monthly prompt competition ? Okay.
RE Critiquing someone else's work: What don't you like about it? Lack of time to devote to the articulating your thoughts, not liking to comment upon another writer's work, allergic to critiquing in general? Until three months ago I was extremely reluctant to critique anybody's writing. I'm still wary of doing it, but that's due to inexperience, I think. And also because there are some writers who would shrug it off if you mocked their mom but would threaten to cut ya if you said something less than positive about their writing.
I feel like I think differently than most people (which may or may not be true) so I'm wary of telling people what would improve their story. I don't feel that my way of doing things is usually a good way for other people to do things, I guess.
I'm also kind of bad at explaining my thoughts, as this comment may show.
- what made you want to join loveletters ? I used to write all the time from when I can remember until I graduated college in Dec. of 2006. Having to write all the time for my writing classes I was a bit miffed at the "chore" writing had become....but now after 2 more years of life experiences I know how I have grown as a person and I am curious to see how my writing style as evolved (if at all). I know Guari through a different community that has become such a positive experience (and I know she has similar goals for the community) that I wanted to check it out.
- what stops you from applying to loveletters ? Writers block as been a bitch lately and I have nothing recent. I want to submit my application today though hopefully!
- what would make you want to apply ? I would like to see this community more active as I believe that it was started for all of the right reasons and if it grows it could be an excellent environment for growth as a writer.
- how can we better tailor the community to you ?Not completely sure yet as I just
