Hello, this is my first post here. I usually prefer reading what other have to say than try to sound intelligent, but I find myself with a problem.

Recently, I recomended Loveless to a friend. I rhapsodized about beautiful bishies, about the dreamy atmosphere in the anime, about the flufiness and soul-crushing angst, about Soubi and his fucked-up

This question has bothered me since the beginning. You would think Ritsuka would at least ask, even if he never receives an answer. I fear it's going to be one of these loose ends that never gets tied up... if the series is ever completed.

That is a damn good question, I've been wondering that for a long time myself. oo I'm kind of hoping she's holding off the answer to that (assuming we get one) for a good reason, like it's a big part of the plot or a surprise or something. All we can do now is theorize, I guess. :/

It's never explained, never even really brought up. I've always been a little frustrated by that, but at the same time the story is so much more about the characters and their relationships/interactions that it hasn't been too hard for me to overlook the omission. Though, yeah, I'd really like to know something about the purpose of it all.

The apparent pointlessness of the fighting's had me long baffled too. I don't think you've missed anything. Yun Kouga's got an elusive way with a storyline - I felt very confused by Earthian as well. I keep hoping Tokyopop's Loveless translator will explain things in one of her essays at the back of the individual volumes, but I don't think she knows what's going on either!

... You really think Kouga Yun would reveal teh sekrit? To me, the plot revolves so much about the nature of the bond between Fighters and Sacrifices, and Seimei, that it doesn't leave room for anything else.
