Rorschach hadn't been back to Vanessa's art gallery since he'd broken in. He distorted his face as he approached it. This is where it all started... he reminded himself with a frown.

He saw that the door was open with Vanessa outside. She was occupied with the plants.

Remembering the terrible dream he had about New York and about Jon and about this woman dying under his watch, Walter made his way up to Vanessa.

"Hello," he offered, his voice low.

His voice did cause her a frown, for it brought her back to that fateful event. She looked up and saw him without a mask, like he had been, that last day in New York.

"I'm glad to see you've woken up as well," she said politely.

"As well?" Walter asked, bringing his hand up to the back of his head and feeling a small bump there. He dismissed it as a result of his hard floor at the hut.

"Dreamt lately?" he asked inconspicuously. Didn't want to leap to sharing his dream with the woman who was in it.

"Yes, of course," Nessa said, not understanding the other man's question. "You were in it. Or rather, I was in yours. That's what happened this weekend. People were sent into a dream of home and brought others with them. Your dream took me."
