"Yeah?" Vimes was standing behind the desk and sorting through paperwork when the door opened. He recognized the woman - you recognize everyone after a while - but he couldn't have said what her name was.

But the expression she wore, that was oddly familiar. She looked suspiciously like Sybil had back home when Willikins, their butler, informed her that he had fished yet another assassin trainee out of the fountain. Put out, that was the proper term. "Can I do something for you, ma'am?"

Upon answering Nessa walked into the office and sat down on the empty chair in front of the desk. "Tea, if you can manage, would be wonderul." Some might think it a nervous joke in times of distress, but Nessa was perfectly serious. She could do with a cuppa.

Oh, that was definitely a Sybil expression.
