i think you're right
in some articles say that they are (ps: kpop) can't conquer japan if they are not masterd in japanese (ps : it's just one member can speak japanese).
and in another article say that only singer (ps : includ kpop) that mastered in japanese (ps : like Tohoshinki/DBSK, BoA) can last long in japan industrial music.
maybe some of the people/their fans (ps : kpop) say that though they are not mastered in japanese they are still can number one in Oricon chart but keep in mind they just number one in days (ps : some of them just for one day or 2 days)
while they are that mastered in japanese can stay number one over than weekly..
